Excellence At Thekwini TVET College

Thekwini TVET College student is invited to the Deputy Ministers Leadership Summit after receiving the prestigious Helen D Stone Man Civic Leadership Scholarship

Thekwini TVET College student and YouthBuild ambassador, SIPHESIHLE SOLIWE is an N6 Tourism Student at Centec campus. He has been invited to represent the College at the Deputy Ministers Leadership Summit in Cape town from 08 -12 February 2023.
It was in March 2020 that Thekwini TVET College- Cato Manor Campus formed a partnership with YouthBuild South Africa (YBSA). The objective behind the partnership was to “Unleash the positive energy of disadvantaged, unemployed youth to build their lives and their communities”.
Thekwini TVET College is proud to announce that Siphesihle Soliwe is the proud recipient of the Helene D Stone Man Civic Leadership Scholarship grant worth $2000-00 (approx. R35000). This prestigious award is in recognition of his contribution as the voice of the youth, in pioneering and driving change in his community.
Siphesihle completed his NCV Hospitality at Cato Manor Campus and went on to pursue further studies in Tourism at Centec Campus. During his time at Cato Manor Campus and while in the YouthBuild programme he was mentored by his lecturer Mrs. Ramsoonder. Siphesihle represented SA at the Global Youth Conference-USA in 2021. After attending the mental toughness camp in 2020 he went on to train in the YouthBuild entrepreneurship programme.
Thereafter he completed his work Integrated learning at Musgrave Avenue Guesthouse. While completing his final year-NCV L4, he was selected to speak at the Global Youth Conference in the USA. Siphesihle has attributed his success of his newly formed company Miss Fabulous to YouthBuild SA and Thekwini TVET College. He also volunteers his time to the Inami Early Childhood Crèche in Chesterville as well as the Vuyani Nkosi Youth Centre.
